Pam Maus

Co-Founder & Program Organizer

Pam Maus, founding member of Maine Women, considers herself an activist, feminist and filmmaker.

It wasn’t until she started making films that she realized she has always been in the business of storytelling. Her career has been devoted to helping individuals and organizations discover their stories and then use them to develop their potential.

After growing up in Arkansas, Pam moved to Maine from Boston where she earned a Master’s degree in organizational and career development from Northeastern University which she put to work at Polaroid - where "we were all invested in making storytelling instantly accessible.”

Film making started for Pam in 2009 when she discovered documentary film as a way to bring her voice and passion to breaking down barriers to social justice for women and other marginalized groups. She has made two documentary films, NextStepRun! and from the Second Wave to the Tidal Wave, both of which are in distribution and available for small and large screenings. www.pammaus.com

Additional life and career pursuits took her throughout the US and Europe including stints at the Harvard Business School, 1992 Clinton Presidential campaign, a private chef in the South of France, and owner of a bed and breakfast on the coast of Maine.  With joy and anticipation she worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
