Aislinn Sarnacki writes for the Bangor Daily News Outdoors and Homestead sections, as well as the Bangor Metro magazine. She's the author of the BDN blog, "Act Out With Aislinn," for which she's documented more than 300 hiking trails throughout Maine, and she's published three hiking guidebooks through Down East Books: "Family Friendly Hikes in Maine" (2017), "Maine Hikes Off the Beaten Path" (2018) and "Dog Friendly Hikes in Maine" (2019). Born in Belfast, Aislinn has lived her whole life in Maine, exploring the state's many outdoor destinations. After graduating from the University of Maine in 2010, she began working for the BDN, where she's been ever since. In addition to hiking, she enjoys wildlife photography, canoeing, kayaking, camping, ice skating, cross-country skiing, mountain biking and snowshoeing.
