Jo Dondis

Jo Dondis is a Maine native and granddaughter of Ida and Joseph Dondis who built the Strand Theatre in 1923. She holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and an M.S. in Communications from Boston University. Jo spent twenty-four years in Los Angeles working as a television news producer at CNN, ABC, CBS and KCET, a PBS station where she won a Peabody Award for her work on the show A Place of Our Own. She returned to Maine in 2010 with her husband Peter Imber and spearheaded the effort to transition the Strand to a non-profit.
