Alicia Pulsifer Heyburn is a Registered Maine Sea Kayak Guide and grew up on wooden boats, exploring the coves, mudflats and islands of Quahog Bay in Harpswell. She runs CommunityWorks, a consultancy focused on community based conservation – such as introducing coastal landowners to oyster growers or rebuilding a fish ladder to maintain an historic alewife run. She serves on the board of the Maine Island Trail Association, and was thrilled to earn a new hat last summer for visiting 30 islands during MITA's 30th anniversary.
